Installation of Hyperion System 9 in Linux:
Following are the steps and snapshots that can help anyone who is interested in installing Hyperion System 9 in linux and doesn't know the steps
The following is assumed:
1. You have all the required Packages needed to be installed
2. Database is already installed and configured
3. You know some of the basic commands of linux
4. You should be aware of Putty and WinSCP
5. If you do not have WinSCP you can download it from here and Putty from here
Note: To download the packages please navigate to Oracle edelivery
------------------------------------ Hyperion Shared Service------------------------------------
1. Extract the zip file on the base machine and copy that folder onto the desktop (whichever location you prefer) with the WinSCP utility
2. Navigate to the folder where you
have the tar file (In my case /root/Desktop/ESS)
I have just started with the installation of Hyperion System 9 in Linux(RHEL to be specific)

file is like a zip file in linux and to unzip it we need to execute the command
tar
zxf <filename>.tar.gz
If you have access to execute the file, then you need to do the following
chmod +x <filename> [Eg. chmod +x setup.bin]

./<filename>.bin [If your linux supports Graphical Interface]
./<filename>.bin
–console [If your linux does
not support Graphical Interface]
or
4. You will get the following screens while installing Hyperion Shared Services(HSS)
5. Select the correct Options from the different screens
6. After the options are selected correctly, you get the following screen which shows the installation progress
7. When the installation is completed you will get a window which will show that installation was successful and will it will then ask if you want to configure Shared service or not
Note: This material is just for reference and I would not be responsible if you face any issue while the installation process.
